The audit for Laura's photography website aimed to enhance user experience and optimise performance. I evaluated design elements, SEO strategies, and overall functionality to ensure her site stands out in a competitive market.
First impressions & UX
Overall look
Modern
Modern look and elements are spaced out nicely. Consider increasing the font size from 15px to 16px/18px (16 is the standard smaller than this gets hard to read). Some of the colours could be more contrasting (like the hover over on the main menu) to make it easier to read. Font consistency is good!
Messaging
Could improve
On the homepage the carousel gives the user 3 options and it is fast to switch slides. Consider re-writing your main title to go after specific people, what would you like to do every (working) day? At the bottom of the home page there is some text "Book a quick chat here....." which can confuse people to use the button rather than this text. I would expect the "here" to be a link. Remove this and move the button to the left. Kind words and blog page has old logo in the header, keep this consistent throughout the site.
Mobile responsiveness
Great!
I couldn't find issues with mobile version other than the highlighted above. Great job.
Website performance
Speed
Your speed indicates how quickly your site loads. It is a ranking factor and most sites should load in under 3 seconds. To improve yours you can - Update your images to use webp instead of jpg - Reduce the amount of fonts loading and js files - add width and height to images. You want to aim for 90% or more.
Accessibility
You need to have better contrast between the font colour and the background colour, - Add titles to links, - Correct your heading order (h1, h2, h3)
Best practices
Your google tag (js) code is 404ing which means its not loading correctly. Correcting this will move this score to 100
SEO
The cookie link does not have descriptive text, fixing this will help push this score up. These scores are given by Google page speed test, these are used in determining where you rank in search results.

Good
It's clear you want people to book a chat with you and there are plenty of buttons to click. Consider thinking about your user journey(s), who do you want to contact you? what do you need them to read before they book with you? Users should be able to book with you in around 3 clicks, current user journey is this. Home > packages > styleandshoot > contact > submit form.
Forms - ease of use
Good
Easy to use and understand. Only note that FOCUS ON YOU is all in caps but the rest isnt, keep it consistent.
